02 Sep Wow!
Well…wow.
Every so often, (which actually seems to be all the time!), we have a weekend or a story that leaves my and our staff’s hearts full through something God does through the lives of people at Mosaic. Consider this past weekend:
- Altogether, we had 300 backpacks purchased, filled with school supplies, and dropped off in schools all across the city or given to families in need.
- mKids had the final two team members sign up for the new scheduling rotation. Thanks goes to Jessica Price and Tanya Narvaez for their courage and commitment to the children of Mosaic, along with the 72 others. We are now fully staffed and ready to go to make what we believe will be an even bigger difference in the lives of our kids.
- mYouth had more than a dozen people express interest in volunteering
- we received more than 30 interest cards in becoming a mentor at Live Oak Elementary with an at-risk child
- we also received around 20 cards to either get connected with Mosaic at a deeper level or take a step to be involved with a community group.
So, again…wow.
Thanks goes to so many of you for your giving and volunteering to make a difference inside and outside of our faith community. It really does make a difference in bringing shalom into parts of our city that need it.
This Sunday, we will be returning to our series in the Gospel of Matthew, and we will be in chapter 2, looking at the incredible ways Jesus interrupted lives in His day and still does in our day. If you have a friend who is a skeptic of church or Christianity, this will be a particularly good Sunday to invite them! I hope what you’ll hear will massively boost your faith in the internal consistency of the Bible as well as cause you to think and grow in some ways you might not have before.
I’ll see you then!
