What Made the Top 22 List for 2022

Without question, 2022 was, in many ways, a banner year for Mosaic Church.

And so, as we look to close the year, I’d like to end it on a celebratory note, perhaps with some pizzazz that is fitting for this time of year–and what you are about to read, I hope, reflects that.

You’ve heard of Top 10 lists? (Yes)

Follow me as I quickly do a “Top 22 in ‘22 list”! Below are 22 of many of the best things that happened to or through Mosaic Church this past year (but it’s certainly not all!).

Here we go!

22. We had a record number of middle and high school kids ride those buses to the Every Nation Youth Camp this year in Glorieta, New Mexico. Lives were changed!

21. KIDCON Summer and Winter: Who can forget the foam party in the parking lot, the laser tag room, and best of all, all those kids committing their lives to Christ?

20. We had 62 water baptisms this year!

19. We sent Luke and Holly Smith to Italy as missionaries.

18. A third service was launched in August.

17. We expanded our services with Mosaic Street Ministry.

16. Our Mentor Program for local public schools was re-launched.

15. We took our first international mission trip in three years to the Dominican Republic.

14. In October, the Fall Fest was likely our largest yet.

13. We had a record total for our Live Big offering: our (final) total was more than $87,000!

12. We wrote and presented two new, original songs this year: “Better Than I Began” and “Not Alone.”

11. Mosaic’s counseling ministry team was expanded.

10. We saw growth with our campus ministry at the University of Texas.

9. Mosaic’s deacon team added new members for the first time in three years.

8. We are 99% done with the buildout for our new Street Ministry space, Student Space, offices and Recording Studio.

7. In February, Mosaic Church was honored by the City of Austin for its service to the city during Winter Storm Uri.

6. Leadership 215 (our two-year leadership development track) is doing great and larger than ever.

5. We have prepared to send out Dan and Kristin Duran as church planters to El Paso in January.

4. Pastor Alvin Brown has relocated to Fort Worth to launch Mosaic Fort Worth.

3. We launched Mosaic South in November after a miracle gift of debt-free land and property from Texas Oaks Baptist.

2. …You! And all the ways you loved, served, prayed, gave, showed up and believed for God to do something great among us this year. Our staff team loves serving and praying for you! Leadership here is a joy because of who you are and what you bring.

1. By far, the number one highlight of the year was experiencing the love of Jesus in our midst and seeing how he has held us and cared for us week in and week out.

So, thank you for a great 2022, and here’s to a great 2023.

May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you, be near to you and be in your home and heart in the days and moments to come. Much love to you!

Happy New Year!

Morgan

P.S. We will see you ONLINE ONLY this Sunday, January 1, at normal service times. We’ll be back in person at Mosaic North and South on January 8.
