Update on Storm and Church Property

Hi everyone! I hope you are safe and warm as you read this.

Obviously, we have been through quite a bit over the last few days in the Austin area. If your yard or apartment complex looks anything like the Stephens’ yard…it’s a disaster.

Even while (at this writing) there are still some at Mosaic who have no power or internet, as I and our staff have checked on and reached out to as many as we could, it thankfully seems like everyone is safe and there have been no injuries or emergencies–apart from the regrettable damage to property and loss of trees.

Which brings me to the purpose of writing this:

Our Mosaic North property has also suffered some severe tree loss and some minor damage to the property (fences and awnings broken or bent).

We do have a tree company coming out to get to the major stuff, and we anticipate having the parking lot cleared and safe by Sunday. You may see a ton of debris on the grass and sides, but that is the new normal for the next few weeks in Austin, I’m sure.

Our South campus seems to have escaped damage, but there is, of course, a huge mess and branches and trees down across that property as well. We also anticipate having it cleared and safe for Sunday morning service, with only some residual debris for later clearing.

Thanks to those of you who have come and put a few hours in over the last few days to make a safe environment on Sunday possible! At this point, we do not feel there is a need for an organized clean-up crew. Between the volunteers we have had, plus the tree service we have employed, we feel good about where the property will be, come Sunday.

Oddly (and supernaturally) enough, we will be looking at Mosaic’s vision and history this Sunday, as a way of seeing God’s miraculous provision for us–and if you know our history, many, many storms have been used to make us better in the end.

I have every confidence that this one will be the same.

Morgan

P.S. We are excited to see you on Sunday, and you may have noticed that our 11 am service at Mosaic North has been rather full the past few weeks (extending to the overflow room). If you are able, please help make space for others by attending the 12:30 pm service.
