The Top Three Things You Might Not Be Participating in at Mosaic Church (but ought to be!)

Sorry for the “click bait” headline above, but there really are some amazing environments we have going on here at Mosaic that you might not know about and be taking advantage of (in the best sense, of course!) Here goes:

1. Radiant Moms (this one’s not really for the men, I’ll admit): All right, I’ll say it—As a dad and pastor, I’m a fan of Radiant Moms, our monthly class designed to help all moms be better moms. I’m not just a fan because my wife always comes home with great parenting ideas, more grace in her heart for our children and a renewed sense of calling and encouragement to be a mom (as if that weren’t enough!);

I’m not just a fan of Radiant Moms because I’ve heard the speakers are good, the decorations are pretty (yup, I said it) and there is a fantastic group of moms who make the event fun and meaningful (as if that also weren’t enough!);

I’m a fan of Radiant Moms because of the type of environment and culture it helps create in our church—one of discipleship, support and next-generation thinking.

So, moms or moms-to-be, take a break from the Mommy Wars and get involved with something that can help be a consistent source of inspiration and encouragement with other great moms. Experienced moms, we especially would love to have you in the mix, passing along some hard-earned wisdom and perspective to those just starting the journey!

The next class is next Thursday (Sept 3) at 10 am. The meeting is free, but there is a super cheap cost for childcare. You can register here.

2. Friday Morning Prayer

Maybe you’ve missed hearing about it somehow, but we have our church prayer meeting every Friday morning from 7-8 am over in Elevate.

It’s a more open and less structured environment, where we focus on just pouring out our hearts to God and “entering his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise” (Psalm 100). We’ll often have a brief (2-3 minute) teaching, thought, or exhortation on prayer, followed by time for extemporaneous prayer and then a few items on our list—things to pray for that happen nationally, locally, and in our own church.

It often feels like a sacrifice to get up and out of the house a little earlier than normal, but I have lost count of the times that God has been faithful to answer some request I had or give me the solution to the problem I was working through, as I have prioritized him and praying for others’ needs. It’s just the way it works.

I’ve heard it said, “When we work, we work. When we pray, God works”—and there is a lot of truth in that statement.

Come join us this Friday—you never know what is going to happen there!

3. Community Groups

If you’re new to Mosaic, or have yet to find a smaller group to connect with during the week, than this week we have something called “GroupLink”, where we try to help match you with a great group of people. Why? Because you have something to give to them, and they have something to give to you—which is what having great relationships is all about.

We don’t just give lip service to these groups, and it’s not a leftover thing because we can’t or don’t do something else—making disciples in smaller groups was Jesus’ life focus—why shouldn’t it be the same for us as well? Around 70% of those who attend Mosaic are a part of a group, which is extremely high for a church (especially in the United States). You can either find a group through our group directory on our website, or come check out GroupLink this Sunday after each service.

All right, that’s it! The Three Things You Might Not Be Participating in At Mosaic Church but Should Be!

See you this Sunday as we move into one of the most famous stories in all the Bible, and the high point of the life of David (you can check out 1 Samuel 17 if you’d like to read ahead).

Much love,

Morgan
