07 Apr The Next Two Weeks
The next two weekends look to be really great ones at Mosaic—this Sunday, as we commemorate and celebrate what is traditionally known as Palm Sunday, in honor of Jesus’s Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem (Matthew 21), we will be “making a big deal” out of it, with special music and an amazing dance from Candace Smith and our dance team. This is another great weekend to invite someone!
The following Friday (April 14) is known as Good Friday, where we look at and reflect deeply upon the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. We will be having, for the first time, a Good Friday service from 7 to 8 pm that night, with communion served in honor of the Last Supper. School aged children are welcome and encouraged to attend with their parents, and there will be child care available for young ones 0 through Pre K.
And then, the next Sunday is, of course, Easter. Two things about that:
1. If you have been here on Easter before, you know that we make a really big deal out of it, and “pull out all the stops”, as it were, to coin an old-school musical phrase. Dance, video, and a brand new song written by us will go along with some new surprises.
2. The theme is “A Better Story”, and we will be looking at how the Resurrection enables us to live a better story than anything we have had handed down to us or anything we could ever come up with on our own. Even though every week is a great week to invite someone, this will be a fantastic week to invite guests, friends, roommates, and family with you, and is something you should definitely be looking forward to! People really will consider coming with you to church on Easter more than any other time of year, along with Christmas.
Along with all that, I just wanted to say thank you for all you do and for being a part of this Mosaic. My heart was so full last Sunday evening, as I came back up to do our quarterly membership class for about 30 folks or so, and I saw rooms filled with people beginning their Leadership 215 journey, another room full of folks believing to get out of debt and get on top of their finances in Financial Peace University; the worship team was back Sunday night rehearsing for Easter; and Elevate was going on for our high school students—and that doesn’t even count the field trip mYouth took or all the Sunday night community groups going on around the city!
There were so many people learning, growing, leading and investing their lives into something greater than themselves. I am grateful for your trust and sacrifice for Jesus and our dream together.
Much love,
Morgan
