21 Apr The Best is Yet to Come
If you were one of the many people who visited Mosaic for the first time this past weekend, and you filled out a Connection Card, then you are now on our (mostly) weekly email list, along with many others in the Mosaic Community.
Thanks again for being there this past weekend, and for allowing us to send you this! I’m excited to invite you back again for what we are beginning this Sunday:
a look at where the “Better Story” picks up and continues, from the Resurrection of Jesus into the first Christian community right into today, with what God is doing all over the world and in our local church.
The series, called “The Best is Yet to Come”, will look in the book of Acts at:
- the role of courage in the early church
- the roots of multiethnic ministry, and
- the role of the supernatural
All three of those things are elements we value in our community of faith, and believe that people need in their lives to really change the world around them today in 21st century culture.
With that being said, allow me to make one brief statement about a word I’ve already used twice in this email, and that is the word “community”.
While no community is ever perfect, and certainly no one in any community ever is (I’m definitely not—you can ask my wife!), we really do value the importance of and the sacrifice necessary to live out the value of community in our lives.
Almost everything in our culture conspires to pull us away from one another and from meaningful, life-affirming relationships (I could give a list, but I won’t!), and in the middle of that, church can become one more event we (sometimes) schedule into our lives. And believe me, my family, with 4 kids, feels this deeply. But more than an event or a strategy, Mosaic is a community. And we hope you’ll come and experience the power of being a part of that.
Jesus loves our city and all the people and families here, and has great plans for you, no matter where you are or what you are in the middle of.
No matter what, there is always hope! We pray you, whether you are coming for the first, second, or thousandth time, would experience that here.
Much love,
Morgan
