Thank you, Phillip

If you weren’t there last Sunday, you missed a great moment we had at the end of worship, as we celebrated the faithfulness and transition of our Worship Director for the past 7 plus years, Phillip Edwards.

Phillip, if you didn’t know, has been a bivocational minister, both leading worship for us and growing his own business, which helps churches all over the world improve the quality and depth of their worship teams. Because Phillip has been so great at both, our local church has been the beneficiary of his leadership and service, and his company has thrived as well.

After burning the candle at both ends too much over the last year, Phillip felt it was the right time to step back a bit to only being an amazing volunteer on the worship team (seriously—how blessed are we as a church!), which has opened the door for us to bring on Nathan Brown as our new Worship Director.

As you may know, Nathan has himself been a faithful and talented member of our team for many years now, and he and Phillip have worked together seamlessly over the last bit behind the scenes to make this process a smooth one.

So, the good news is, both will be continue to be upfront and involved, but Nathan will begin to run point, and Phillip will continue to lead and serve on the team, but in an obviously reduced capacity.

We are so blessed that Jesus, the true head of our church, has seen fit to place both of these men here to lead our hearts in worship, which is, as you may know, one of the enduring core values of our church.

This past week was Phillip’s final one in his current position, and this Sunday will be Nathan’s first, although, again, you’ll see Phillip back in there again serving the body. Let me encourage you to be here this Sunday to support both of them, and to worship together as a church, knowing that our value of worship is bigger than any one person!

God has been so good and faithful to us, and we trust that the best really is yet to come for us in this area.

Thank you, Phillip, for your faithfulness and service to Jesus and to His church, and thank you, Nathan, for answering the call!

Again, let’s make it a great Sunday as we gather to worship and to launch into the second half of our series in Galatians, as we take a new “filter” out to look at the last sections of this amazing book. We’re calling it “Sons and Daughters”, and if you were here this past week, you heard in that message the seeds of what’s to come.

Exciting stuff for us! See you soon.

Morgan

P.S. Congratulations to Elan Patterson for being the Live Oak Elementary Mentor of the year—she was honored this past week by Round Rock ISD for her extraordinary service.
