22 Dec Sunday Services Moving to Online Only

Hi there,

We hope this note finds you well as we approach Christmas. We wanted to inform you that we made the very difficult decision to move to “online only” for our services this coming Sunday and this will likely be the case for the next month or so, but exact dates have yet to be determined.

While the data points we have been keeping an eye on (namely, hospitalizations) are not in as bad of a place as they were compared to earlier this year, they are not in a good place either, and are rising rapidly, as you may have heard. After much thought and discussion, we feel like the wisest and safest direction is to return to “online only” services for at least the next few weeks.

This wasn’t an easy decision. In fact, it is our preference to create an experience where people can worship both online and in-person. Considering some of the things mentioned above, along with the reality that one of our staff tested positive for COVID just last week, and the increased chances of possible contact during the holiday season, moving to “online only” seemed like the wisest thing to do.

Whether you have attended a service in the past or were looking forward to experiencing Mosaic in-person for the first time, we realize that this decision impacts you in some way, which is why it is especially painful for us. We greatly value gathering together to be in God’s presence collectively, yet we also value your safety and hope you can understand our decision.

Our hope is to be “online only” for just a few more weeks, perhaps through the end of January, and resume with some live in-person gatherings again at the beginning of February, but this will be driven by our local data.

We will continue to send out updates over the course of the next several weeks to keep you in the loop. In an ever-changing world, we remain committed to doing everything in our power to help us stay connected to God and one another. Thank you for your continued support, patience, and grace.
