Staff Updates + Service Times

As 2021 winds to a close, I have some exciting news to share with you!

Many of you know that Pastor Nathan Brown has transitioned away from Mosaic Church to plant a brand new church in Liberty Hill with a ministry called Vintage Church. If you recall, we brought you this update back in October, and we continue to wish him and his family all the best in their new adventure with their new church family.

His departure opened the door for a new hire at Mosaic to fulfill what Nathan had been doing since the beginning of 2021 in the area of connections and membership.

Creating an environment where the ancient Christian value of hospitality is practiced, and helping people walk through the membership process in a multiethnic, multigenerational local church is a really big, and really growing, endeavor.

Keong Fong, Director of Connection

I’m happy (thrilled, actually) to announce that Keong Fong has agreed to join our staff team as our new Director of Connections.

Keong, his wife Audrey, and his daughter, Cara, have been a part of Mosaic for roughly the last two years. They relocated to Austin from Malaysia, and immediately (and fairly miraculously) found Mosaic at the end of 2019, right before the pandemic began. Since then, Keong has been an instrumental part of growing a community group, faithfully showing up on Zoom week in and week out, has served tirelessly with Mosaic Street Ministry, and in general, has probably invited more people to lunch just to make a friend than just about anyone I know! He has demonstrated an incredible ability to foster connections and a culture of discipleship here at Mosaic, and I believe he will do an amazing job.

His professional background is in architecture; his passion is for building teams that are aimed at achieving a common purpose.

Morgan Benoit, Administrative Assistant

Last month, we were excited to welcome Morgan Benoit on staff as our part-time administrative assistant. Morgan has been a member at Mosaic for three years, serves as the 3 and 4-year-old team lead in mKids, and co-leads a vibrant, young adult community group. Morgan has experience in faith-based, nonprofits, and her excellence in administration has quickly impacted what we’re doing at Mosaic – Project Christmas, ENC and Singles Gatherings, and upcoming 2022 events.

Again, we are excited to have Keong join our team beginning in January, and Morgan on board with us as we close 2021. I hope that you extend your congratulations and encouragement to them both when you see them.

Keong and Morgan’s hirings are great Christmas presents for our staff and church!

And speaking of Christmas, let me close by reminding you of two things:

a.) Please come early this Sunday to enjoy our Christmas carolers in the lobby, as well as a brand-new, original Christmas song from Mosaic Church!

We are excited to celebrate Christmas in a big way this weekend.

b.) Our Christmas Eve service times are 3, 4:30 and 6 pm.

Please consider inviting your friends and family to this gathering!

We’ll have a candlelight service with lots of Christmas music and a special (maybe even unusual?) message about the meaning of Christ’s birth. People are open to going to church on Christmas like no other time of year, so just go ahead and invite that co-worker or friend or family member. Aren’t you glad someone extended you an invitation at some point to come hear something that really did change your life? I know I am. The cookies and hot chocolate that will be served are also a nice talking point.

Much love to you. Merry Christmas!

Morgan
