23 Jun Special Weekend with Pastor Reggie Roberson
Hopefully, you have heard by now about our special services this weekend with Pastor Reggie Roberson, lead pastor of King’s Park International Church in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.
Reggie and I have been friends for many years, going back to our time doing campus ministry together with Every Nation Campus: him at Duke University, and me at UT (of course that’s the University of Texas, in case you were wondering).
As a church and part of a global church family (Every Nation) that believes in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, this will be a meaningful opportunity to experience some of those gifts at work through Reggie’s life and ministry, especially his prophetic gift.
1 Corinthians chapters 12-14 talk about the role of the prophetic in a local church: it’s there for encouragement, strengthening, and confirmation. To those three ends we will have a special Saturday evening worship gathering, where a good bit of time will be carved out for individuals and couples to be prayed over and ministered to by the Holy Spirit through Reggie.
These can be such powerful and life-changing moments: I came to faith in Christ when a traveling evangelist called me out of a crowd and prophesied over me, connecting me with the love of Jesus for my life in a profound way. I felt in that moment how good God was, and how he knew me intimately in a way that went beyond my imagination.
Reggie is a respected voice in our Every Nation family, and in addition to pastoring a large multiethnic church as an African-American man in the deep south, he is a wise and kind man, and I’m excited about having him in. He will also be preaching all three services at Mosaic North this coming Sunday.
I hope to see you this Saturday evening at 6 pm, and then Sunday.
Blessings,
Morgan
