08 Dec Special Guest This Weekend!
Merry Christmas to you, and I pray you are enjoying the season of advent as much as I am. We even had some snow flurries at my house and around the church facility this week!
I just wanted to let you know of our special guest speaker/minister who is not really a guest speaker/minister, in a way, as he has been coming here annually for many years now. We are excited to have in Pastor Jim Laffoon from Nashville, Tennessee (he has relocated there from North Carolina, if you are keeping track). Jim is a senior leader within Every Nation Churches and Ministries, of which Mosaic is a part.
Jim is a tremendous Bible teacher with a strong prophetic and counseling gift, and has been a mentor to Carrie and me, as well as many others in our church for quite some time. It’s fair to say that we would not be where we are in life, in ministry and in our walk with Jesus if it were not for his influence.
Jim travels the world, speaking and teaching the Bible, as well as ministering prophetically, and his voice into our lives at a number of key moments has been life changing. I have also lost track of the times Jim has spoken into someone’s life and seen them change forever, and I never grow tired of hearing God’s heart for people through Jim.
He will be with us for all three services this Sunday, and I hope you will make plans to join us and not miss what is always a dynamic ministry environment when Jim is in the room!
I am so looking forward to experiencing God’s power and presence this week with you!

P.S. Have you seen our holiday schedule yet? Our Christmas Eve services will not be on Sunday morning, but at 3, 4:30 and 6 pm Sunday afternoon and evening.
These are always great moments to invite friends, neighbors, and family, and I hope you will take advantage of the opportunity to perhaps introduce Jesus, your faith, and your church to someone new. We are planning great things for that evening, including a tremendous children’s performance that night. I am really excited about that—it is totally out of the box from anything we have done before (kudos to our Children’s Ministry Director, Vanessa Maleare, for making it happen!). Christmas carols and candlelight, are, of course, part of the evening as well. We will have child care for Pre-K ages only, and Kindergarten-aged children on up will be with their parents.
On the following Sunday, New Year’s Eve, December 31st, we will be having two services only that day, at 10 and 11:30 am. Childcare will be the same as on Christmas Eve—available for Pre-K only.
