05 May Questions, Bribery & Keeping It Real

Consider the kinds of questions asked today by singles who desire to get married:

Why is our culture so preoccupied with appearance?

Why is our culture so committed, so often, to decommitment?

Where can I meet someone?

How do I meet someone of character with values I connect with?

What are they hiding?

Why does it feel like so many people have no idea how to talk to anyone anymore?

What do the Christian Scriptures say about my singleness?

Does my church care about me?

Perhaps at no other time has it been more difficult to be single, juggling the answers to all these questions and many more.

But, because the answer to that last question is a resounding yes, we are trying to “Keep it Real” with our upcoming Real Talk, a space where a burning issue or question facing singles is addressed.

Coming up on Friday, May 19 at Mosaic North, I’m excited, along with my wife, Carrie, to be able to speak to these questions (and more) as we address issues surrounding dating and relationships for Christian singles.

While we can’t promise we will answer every question or fix every problem or heal every hurt someone has, we can promise to be real, honest, and Christ-centered, and to foster discussion that embodies these values as well.

If you’re unmarried, and looking for answers, or just looking to make friends (which is really the heart of our singles community), you are more than welcome to come.
