10 Dec Project Christmas Update and Ask
One of the best things we do all year at Mosaic is Project Christmas, and we need a little help from you to meet our goal and finish well.
At the heart of Project Christmas are the many shoebox gifts we get to give to families of students at Live Oak Elementary and Deerpark Middle School, both right around the corner from our facility. These students and families are in our “neighborhood”, so to speak, and we want Mosaic Church to be more than just a building on the freeway; we want to let the schools know that they are supported and the families know they are seen.
Live Oak, in particular, is a Title 1 school with an abundance of needs, and these shoeboxes are ways to support families who have requested help with providing gifts for their children this Christmas. After doing this for a number of years, we know that for some families, what we provide for them through Mosaic Church is the only Christmas they will experience. So, we really can make a big difference!
We still have 39 more shoeboxes that need to be filled with roughly $20 of gifts and then returned to the church facility. If you haven’t, please consider doing that today, or going by our tree in the lobby this Sunday and pulling an ornament and scanning the QR code to help get us to our goal.
Beyond these shoeboxes, of course, you are able to additionally give towards the Vallado Project, an orphanage in San Luis Potosi, Mexico that Mosaic has served and financed for more than a decade; towards Mosaic Street Ministry; and towards serving meals for nurses at local hospitals who have labored through the unimaginable health pandemic over nearly two years.
Thank you so much to all of you who have chipped in on this so far! Overall, we just want Austin to feel and believe that the city really is better when the church of Jesus is there.
So, let’s be there together!
