Preparation for Life

One of the greatest needs any organization or church has is to create a leadership pipeline; that is, to focus on its future through people development.

And, one of the most significant elements in creating that is through catalytic moments.

While we don’t want to undervalue “a long obedience in the same direction”, we also don’t want to underestimate the power of a week, weekend, or moment.

Catalytic moments at faith-filled events can, and really do, shape and transform lives–and that’s exactly what our Every Nation Youth Camp (ENYC) is for our students. It is a catalytic moment designed to shape lives and prepare them for Christian leadership and service.

To that end, this past Sunday we introduced to you our annual “Take to Give” offering but on a far larger scale. Take to Give is a special financial offering designed to help our middle school and high school students get to camp, and it has been historically successful–up to about 25-30 students or so. The idea was that someone from Mosaic (perhaps you!) would “take” a number between 1 and 144, then give that amount, and again, it has worked–up to a certain point!

Now we need, thankfully, to dramatically scale up what we are doing.

Why?

This year, we are excited to anticipate bringing roughly 120 students and 20 counselors/leaders to Camp Glorieta in New Mexico, to be there along with hundreds of other students from our Every Nation family of churches in Texas, Colorado and New Mexico.

For that reason, we felt we needed to expand Take to Give from 1 to 144 to 1 to 400, and last Sunday we talked about our desire to fully fund every student who is able to fit on our three charter buses!

So…here we are! Take to Give is officially underway for the next month, both online and in the lobbies of both Mosaic South and North.

If you missed Sunday and would like to be a part of what is already a really incredible outpouring of generosity on behalf of our students, or if you haven’t been able to do so yet, here is where you can go to “pull” your number and give that amount (or really, any amount).

And maybe even–because our goal has expanded dramatically from raising $10,000 to $80,000–as you see that number, you would like to give to cover all of it or a significant portion of it, of course you are welcome to do that as well!

We are trusting God to provide and do something great on behalf of the next generation, and I hope you are excited to be a part of this along with me.

Let’s do this!
