| This weekend is shaping up to be another important moment for us as a local church, with our Summer KIDCON kicking off this Friday night.
With nearly 200 kids and another 100-plus adults, the three days (including Sunday morning), our team has been preparing like crazy to serve, bless, inspire, rally, feed, instruct, and minister to many families and children.
If you were fortunate enough to be able to attend a Vacation Bible School as a child, or some other children’s ministry event, you know that what matters most is the love that the children experience, alongside the truths they receive. I am thankful for many such moments as a child; I remember, more than anything, how I felt during those weeks and weekends.
I remember feeling loved by people.
I remember feeling excited at all the energy in the building.
I remember people being excited about God.
I look back, and I see how God was faithful to sow seeds into my life at the right time.
Perhaps you can recall something meaningful that happened to you through a special week of VBS or a kids conference, and if you do, you know how important it was for you and how important it still is for shaping the next generation of lives.
In light of that, would you take a moment, right now, and pray with me? I’d like for us to make good on all the commitments we make during baby dedications, about how we commit to standing with parents as they raise their children to fear God and know His heart for them, and praying is one way we can do that!
You can pray:
Father God,
We come to you, thankful for this weekend and the opportunity to see children’s lives changed. Would you meet them in a powerful way this weekend? We ask, in Jesus’ name, for you to touch each soul in the way you know it needs to be touched by your Spirit. We ask you for encouragement for the weak and direction for the strong. Thank you for each child registered and each adult serving. Bless them, we pray, in Jesus’ name, amen.
Thank you for praying with me! I look forward to giving a good report on Sunday, as we continue in our series on “Processing the Emotional Life.”
