13 Mar Mosaic Students | To Fear is Human, To Love Divine
We will begin this weekend’s student service with an ‘elephant in the room’ conversation regarding the coronavirus and COVID-19. ‘‘With many students unable to see their friends or do normal activities, they’ll turn to their devices to keep in touch and make sure they don’t miss what’s going on.’’ And that’s understandable.
It’s a conversation students were having across school cafeteria tables that has shifted to online social communities. And we want to help provide space for students to voice their thoughts and experiences, but to also be encouraged and challenged in their faith. Choosing to do the practical things like washing your hands while singing Happy Birthday and actively trusting the God we serve and His plans for our lives.
Sunday we will continue with our At the Movies series and wanted to give you a heads up on a few items as we aim to continue to create an EPIC and sanitized experience for our students.
So, first things first…
HOW DO I GET MY KIDS TO STOP TOUCHING THEIR FACES?
When you know, please let me know! But until then, let’s just make sure we’re all washing our hands…with soap…and warm water. We’ll also have hand sanitizing stations available throughout the church building. Feel free to get a squirt of sanitizer, but please don’t take any to-go. : )
WHAT ABOUT BREAKFAST?
Communal breakfast items (milk, cereal, orange juice, donuts, coffee/hot chocolate, etc) will not be served. Please enjoy breakfast at home before you arrive.
WHAT ABOUT THE POPCORN?!
Last week we served fresh popcorn, soft drinks and movie snacks. This week, no popcorn, but we will have soft drinks and individually packaged movie snacks available.
WHAT MOVIES ARE WE WATCHING?
During this series we will be screening portions of films. This week we will screen the movie Wonder. (Common Sense Media Review)
Thank you for playing your part and loving one another well.
