Mosaic Staff Updates

Hi everyone! I’d like to draw your attention to some special updates and important adjustments that have been made with respect to our staff, and as they say…it’s all good.

  1. As you heard highlighted last Sunday, Dr. Rosalynn Smith has accepted an offer to come on our team full-time as the Pastor of Mission and Adult Education. She will oversee and support all we do around that value (Mosaic Street Ministry, The Vallado Project, Mosaic Mentors, International Missions connections and trips, local missions connections and support) except for Every Nation Campus, our ministry to college students. She will also maintain her role in working with Adult Education (Leadership 215, GROW classes).
  2. Pastor Barnabas Willis’ new role and title is, simply, Executive Pastor. He will be focused on bringing Strategic Alignment around our organizational practices and processes and making sure all our staff are also aligned around these. His previous Missions responsibilities, as you heard, are rolling over to Pastor Rosalynn.
  3. Brett Millican is now our Pastor of Discipleship. We desire to see not only our mission statement more fully expressed across our church and its ministries, but specifically, the heart of discipleship expressed more fully. Pastor Brett’s responsibility is to make sure our staff and each ministry of our church is living out that heart and walking out that value.
  4. Cori Sullivan is now our Pastor of Community. With Brett’s role changing, we have asked Pastor Cori to lead, continue to develop, and support our Community Group structure…and she said yes! She will also be overseeing Pastoral Care (through a team) for our congregation. This is a big role, and I know she would appreciate your prayers and encouragement!
  5. Nathan Brown is moving into a brand new role, one we are excited about, that of Connections Pastor. As our church body continues to grow, we have needed someone to really consolidate our processes and focus on every new person who desires to get connected with Mosaic and the person of Jesus, to help guide them from their first steps in the door or online all the way into a community group and to serving, where appropriate. This role includes leadership of our membership process. You’ll also see Nathan still leading worship….etc.
  6. Alvin Brown has accepted the full-time role of Pastor of Guest Experience and Technology (he, like Rosalynn Smith, had previously only been in a part-time capacity). As you can imagine, our needs in these areas have only grown exponentially over the past months, and Alvin has been a godsend, combining his corporate experience and expertise with a heart for God’s church.
  7. Jamie Smith will be moving into a new role as well as our Director of Broadcasting & Videography. In this COVID-era, live streaming our services has become a necessity and along with that the need to create a Spirit-filled, intimate, and professional experience for those watching online has become vitally important. Jamie will be building and developing a team to help broadcast our worship gatherings and allow Mosaic to reach as many people as possible in as impactful of a way as possible.
  8. Lastly, we have some exciting/sad news to share regarding Alissa Roberts, who has served as our Director of Communications over roughly the last year. She and her family will be relocating to the Atlanta area, as Ben (her husband) has received a promotion there with his company. So while we will miss them, our congratulations go out to him and to them! Alissa has done an incredible job in a topsy-turvy season, and we are super grateful for her, for Ben and their family, and for the great job she has done moving us forward in our Communications Department.
We will be moving to fill her same position as quickly as possible to allow her to cross-train a replacement. To find out more about this opening, please visit here.

I hope you’re as excited and encouraged about these adjustments, upgrades, and updates as I am. Our church is truly blessed with amazing people, and we are grateful for those who have said yes to the calling and request to serve the church of Jesus in a vocationally unique way.

Wherever you are, would you take a moment and pray for these (and really, for all our staff team)?

Jesus, thank you for these amazing people. I pray you would strengthen them and their families with your love, inspire them by your Spirit, and fill them with your grace to be what you have called them to be, and to do what you have called them to do. Amen.

Blessings to you this week. I’ll see you on Sunday as we continue our look at the nature and character of the God of the Bible, in our Awesome God series, which we are doing in connection with our Every Nation global spiritual family.
