30 Oct Live Big Sunday this Weekend!
Happy Friday!
Thanks to all who made last weekend such an amazing time, full of amazing moments! It was probably my favorite Sunday we’ve ever had, and the feeling of it has been resonating inside me all week. For those of you who missed it, last weekend was a celebration of Mosaic Church’s 20th anniversary.
If you are at all familiar with our story and history, you know that over the last 20 years, this church, like many of you, has had some amazing ups and difficult downs, and there were moments where our future was uncertain. But because “in Him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17), not only has Jesus kept us but has thrust us forward into exciting and uncharted territory as a local church, full of promise and momentum to face the future together!
Wherever you are on your journey with us—whether you are a first time guest from last Sunday reading this, to a regular attender to a long-time and faithful member—I want to take a moment to thank you for your support and participation in God’s Kingdom work in this city. We love Austin and seek to be a people of reconciliation and courage, bravely and humbly loving one another and the city.
And, as amazing as last weekend was, this coming Sunday is actually my favorite one of the year, apart from Easter. This Sunday we are going to do something really amazing together for the city, to show people that they matter to God, even if God doesn’t matter to them. We call it our Live Big Sunday, and if you’ve been here before, you know how powerful and fun it is. If you haven’t, well, I’ll leave it as a surprise until you get here!
If you have a friend you’ve been thinking about inviting, this is a great Sunday to invite them—they will thank you for doing it. And, especially if you have someone who is skeptical or cynical about God or church, this is a really ideal Sunday to get them here. You can bribe them with lunch afterward if need be! All I can say is that when all is said and done from what happens on Sunday, you will be so proud of the church you are a part of. All right, I’ll leave it at that!
I can’t wait to experience it with you! See you then.
