21 Apr Light Your World @ KIDCON
I don’t know about you, but springtime always seems to take on a certain frenetic energy in our house. The longer days beg for adventures beyond bedtime. Every week there are more school activities: the last book fair, final projects, presentations, testing, teacher appreciation, etc. It feels like a freight train barreling down the tracks toward the May finish line, and in the midst of it all, the pollen is trying to destroy any shred of happiness we might find in the sunshine and moderate temperatures. But looming ahead, like a beacon of hope, is that glorious, magical season called SUMMER. The promise of slightly more relaxed schedules, swimming, popsicles, watermelon seed-spitting contests (or if you are my kids – Team Seedless Watermelon all the way), slip and slides, summer camps, or maybe even a highly-anticipated summer adventure/road trip to explore a new place.
I love the ebb and flow of the different rhythms each season brings, and for me, Mosaic Church Summer KIDCON has become the highly anticipated kickoff to the Summer Season. This incredibly fun and impactful conference-style event coming up June 2nd-4th immerses our elementary-age kids in a weekend of Jesus that’s designed to supercharge and fuel them to live out their kingdom identity. We will be building on our Illuminate theme from Winter KIDCON moving outward from how God’s truth illuminates our own lives to how God’s truth brings light into the darkness of the world THROUGH us.
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.” Ephesians 5:8
The truth that God has made us to shine SO THAT the world will be illuminated through us is the consistent thread woven throughout the weekend. We are incredibly excited to also be holding our first-ever KINDER CON for our 5-year-olds and kindergarteners on Saturday which will feature many of the same themes and activities in an environment that better meets the developmental needs of our littlest learners.
In the same way that God’s light was never meant for just us, the fun of KIDCON is not just for our kids. We call it Mosaic KIDCON because we want the whole church to participate in the spiritual formation and growth of our children. The weekend format makes this event more accessible for people of every age and stage of life to partner with us in making KIDCON a meaningful experience. And for the little ones who aren’t old enough yet to participate in KIDCON? We have volunteer childcare available!
For everyone, you can expect:
- Engaging worship
- Age-appropriate breakout sessions
- Games & creative activities
- LOTS of food
- Family after-party on Saturday afternoon
- Saturday morning parent breakout
The weekend concludes in our regular mKids classrooms (both North and South) with a special KIDCON-themed Sunday inviting the kids to take action steps with all they’ve learned to shine the light of Christ in the world around them.
We want ALL your kids, we want ALL their friends, and we want YOU to experience all that God has in store for us this June. Take a moment today to make a call, send a text, or forward this email to a friend, family member or neighbor. Then, head to www.mosaicKIDCON.com for music playlists and to register today! We firmly believe that our good God has something powerful for all of us to receive from Him this Summer.
See you there!
