04 Mar Just a Moment
Hi there!
Hope this catches you at a great time!
I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for being such a great part of what makes Mosaic Church what it is—my heart is so full after last weekend.
Many of you married couples were able to participate in one of the best weekends we have ever had, and certainly my favorite marriage event we’ve done; many of you singles were able to connect in our most recent “Real Talk” environment; and many of you college students went to Nashville for the big Every Nation Campus Student Conference.
That’s a lot of growth and ministry over one weekend, all at the same time, and the encouraging stories continue to come in from it. From marriages being encouraged and strengthened and given a fresh approach to how to do life with their spouse, to miracle salvation stories at the conference, I feel like we took another step forward together last weekend.
Behind the scenes, we don’t consider (nor do we want to be considered) an “events-based church”. That being said, events are a crucial part of the human experience, and key moments, or “moments for believing”, as C.S. Lewis called them, can be transformative experiences. As a matter of fact, the things that really change us deeply are oftentimes specific moments of encouragement, affirmation, or an encounter with the Holy Spirit.
Why?
Well, on one hand, most of our lives are lived not in events, but in the day-to-day, and so we should focus much of our energy on our day-to-day discipleship: reading our Bibles, loving one another in community, praying, serving the people around us.
And yet, there’s just something about a moment that is irreplaceable.
So, thanks for being a part of one of those moments last weekend, if that was you. And for all of us, let’s come into Sunday expecting a moment with Jesus—a moment where He speaks to us, touches us, lifts us, heals us—that’s what a Savior does. “May it be to you according to your faith,” He would often say.
Let’s believe that, and for more moments together.
You are loved,
Morgan
