Just a heads up for this Sunday!

Hope you’re having a great week—between the IF Gathering last weekend, our 3 nights of ministry at UT, and the number of new community groups being launched this Spring, there has been quite a lot happening at Mosaic Church over the past week.

I did want to make you aware of what’s happening this Sunday, especially you parents out there:

This week we will make a slight turn in our series on the book of Proverbs, and narrow our focus over the next 4 weeks to do a “series within a series”, if you will, on relationships. This coming Sunday’s message, which I really am believing will be life-changing for many people, is on the topic of human sexuality, and what the book of Proverbs has to say about it. The goal with it is to honestly communicate the heart of what the book has to share without being unnecessarily titillating; that being said, some of the content, being on the topic that it is, will end up being slightly provocative, towards the PG-13 end of the pool, so to speak. So, if you have a young child or teen for whom you don’t feel a discussion on the topic of sex would be appropriate, my encouragement to you would be to make sure to place them in children’s ministry this Sunday, or have them in mYouth (our junior high environment). For sure, the nature of the content and language involved would be appropriate for all high school students, and for most junior high students, assuming their parents have had appropriate conversations with them prior to Sunday (in my opinion).

In theory, particularly in the light of the fact that the Bible itself has much to say on this crucial topic, the church should never hesitate to offer both light and hope in this area—light for how to live out this area, and hope for those struggling with or damaged by a misuse of what God has intended to be a gift to humanity.

All that being said…you’re going to want to be here to hear it and I hope be equally challenged and encouraged by what is shared! The following week we’ll take a look at what Proverbs has to say about both marriage and singleness, so it should be a fun couple of weeks coming up.

Speaking of marriage and relationships, don’t forget about our upcoming Marriage Seminar, for all you married couples. The theme is “Let’s Be Adventurous“, and you can (and should!) sign up online ASAP. This is a unique kind of marriage weekend (at least compared to what we have done in years past) event—yes, there will be some marriage ministry happening, but the real heart behind it is to create the kinds of “moments” and “feelings” that are the basis for healthy marriage relationships. There will be some romance, some fun, some adventure (no spoilers here!), some great food, dancing, a keepsake memento and more.

You’re going to want to dress up a bit for that Friday (the 26th), and down quite a bit for Saturday (the 27th), and I’ll leave it at that! Please trust me when I say you’re going to have a great time and thank yourself for investing this way in your marriage. You may be asking, “what about this”, or “what about that”? First of all, there are some more details on our website, but second, if you have to know everything about something before you sign up for it—let’s just say you shouldn’t have gotten married in the first place! If you’re married, you’ve already signed up for a lifetime commitment to a person you didn’t know everything about, so take a small chance and put a few dollars towards something where not knowing everything will make for a better experience on the back end. You can register here.

With love,
Morgan
