In the Loop

It’s gearing up to be a busy time over the next few weeks, so here’s everything you need to know to stay in the loop:

1. Tomorrow afternoon, from 4-6 pm, is our “Meet the Teacher” afternoon for all our kids and teens in our mKids, mYouth and Elevate environments. You may know that recently, we reformatted our rotation in mKids to allow for more consistent connection with your child’s teacher, and we’d like to facilitate some time for you to connect with someone who has a heart for your child’s spiritual development.

Parents of teens are also welcome to be there to connect with Wendell Williams (Mosaic’s Youth Pastor) and his team. We’ll have food, games, and activities for your child and teen. Really, it’s a big social event in the parking lot on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and we’d love for you to swing by and join us!

2. Next Saturday, October 29, is almost here! That is the big “City Serve” day, on which churches from all over the greater Austin area will come together to serve the Greater Austin area through hundreds of smaller service projects. Our goal as one big “Church” is to have at least 3000 volunteers, and we are on track, with around 1,500 registered so far.

So many of you, I know, want the church to be known for its care, compassion and generosity towards the city and the world—and this is your chance to help make that desire a reality. The projects are set up, they’re already organized, all they need is for us to show up for a few hours on a Saturday!

You can find a project near you here, and if you need child care for your Pre-K child, you can register here (childcare registration closes next Wednesday at midnight!).

3. There is a fantastic women’s event coming up November 4 and 5. You can find out more about it here.

4. Parents! We have an upcoming Parenting Seminar November 13 and 20 (those are Sunday nights) — and one final meeting in January, but you’ll find out about that after you register!. The cost is only $50. Please don’t wait till your children are in crisis to find out how to do parent better. Just as with our Marriage Seminars, our Parenting Seminars are designed to be the regular “maintenance” your key relationships need to stay running smoothly. Carrie and I make it a priority to be at these ever year, no matter how we feel we are doing, and we are always rewarded for doing so. Being at these forces us to slow down and take a good look at how we parent. You can register for that here.

5. Singles! We have a fun evening planned for you—join us for a simulcast of Pastor Matt Chandler and the Village Church in Dallas, as he and his wife lead us through a relationship and dating seminar called “The Mingling of Souls”. The cost is cheap and the value is high, and you can register for that here.

That’s it! Looking forward to being with you this weekend. Every week I hear testimonies of God’s faithfulness to touch lives, save souls, heal relationships and give hope. It’s an amazing thing to be a part of what He is doing here through all of us, and I don’t take that lightly or for granted.
