11 Nov In the Loop
As many of you are aware, there are quite a few things going on at Mosaic in the coming months, so I wanted to make sure everyone is in the loop. You’ll be tempted to skip around in this email, but be strong and read it all the way through (you can do it…I believe in you!).
Romans 12:4-5 says, “For as in one body we have many members and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.”
As we continue to grow into the church God is calling us into, it is vital that we identify each member’s role and be equipped to best serve those the Lord has called us to help experience His love. With this in mind, I want you to be aware of the Team Member Training we have coming up on Saturday, December 3rd, from 10 am-12 pm. This training is for all Sunday morning area team members, except for our production and worship teams. Whether you’ve been serving for years or just getting started, this is something you won’t want to miss.
Also, one of our favorite annual events is just around the corner! We will be having this year’s Mosaic Christmas Party and Chili Cook Off on Sunday, December 11th at 5 pm. This is a great time to celebrate with a special program from our children followed by some of the best chili in town…provided by you!
To enter your chili into the contest click here.
Note: Even if you don’t want to enter the contest, feel free to just bring a batch of your chili for everyone to enjoy.
Lastly, I want to let you know about a leadership transition on the Mosaic staff. As you know, Joanna Garrison has served as our Children’s Director for the past several years. Joanna and Trey have had multiple conversations over the years about the possibility of moving to the Pacific Northwest. After more dialogue and prayer, they feel as though the time has come to make the transition that they’ve dreamed of for quite sometime. In mid-January of next year, they will be moving to Seattle, WA, which happens to be within driving distance of Joanna’s brother and his family. They are both excited about the new season that lies ahead.
If you’re like me and love Joanna and Trey as much as I do, when you hear this, you may feel surprised, and then a little sad! You’re probably wondering, “What’s next?” Well…here’s what’s next, both for the Garrisons and for mKids:
Joanna will continue to operate in her current role until mid-January while we begin the process of identifying and interviewing candidates to take her place. Joanna has done an amazing job of taking our children’s ministry from where it was several years ago to where it is today and for that we are very grateful.
In order to take mKids even further than she already has, we are looking to hire someone with experience in children’s ministry who also fits the Mosaic DNA (i.e. the mission and vision of our church resonates with them).
We are strongly encouraging any members desiring to apply to please be consciously aware of the reality of us only being able to select one individual. With that being said, we ask that if there is any chance of an offense developing as a result of not being selected, we ask that you opt out of applying for the position. We ultimately want to preserve our relationship with all of our members but can’t do this without your help!
If you meet the qualifications and are interested in applying for the Children’s Director position, please click on the link below (feel free to forward it on to anyone you know who qualifies and might be interested), and we will take it from there:

We would appreciate your prayers for both the Garrisons as they transition, and for us as we look to add a new team member in an important role!
Thanks again for reading!
Much love,
Barnabas
