21 May Important Update
Hi there! I hope you’re having a wonderful week. I wanted to take a moment to bring to your attention an important update happening within our church:
As of this Sunday, May 24, we will be combining our Hispanic and English services. After many years of having a separate Spanish service, we felt like now was the time to transition it into being a part of the larger body at Mosaic.
As we announced a couple of weeks ago at our members meeting at the close of each service, Pastor Armando is transitioning out of full-time ministry. This does not mean we do not have a Hispanic Ministry any more—we do, just not in a separate service. Moving forward, it will begin to function much like many of our other departments—Promiseland, ENC, Elevate, etc.
The Hispanic Ministry will continue to have their community groups and Tuesday night prayer, they will be launching a mid-week Bible study in Spanish, and this Sunday they will be joining the English speaking service going forward (likely the 11:15). We will be providing translation equipment and a translator to help with the obvious need there, and will continue to work to integrate their people into the 9:30am and 11:15am Sunday service areas.
We will be celebrating their transition this weekend, so please come and honor them for all their labor for Christ over the past few years giving it a go as a separate Spanish-speaking church. We want to make them feel really welcomed into “our” services this weekend! You may notice a song here or there in Spanish going forward, and more of a visible presence of our precious Hispanic brothers and sisters. We hope all of this honors God and demonstrates to the world what a multiethnic church made up of all peoples looks like.
Ok, that’s it! See you this weekend as we continue on with our series in the book of Galatians. If you missed our special guest this past weekend (Pastor Kevin York), you can catch the audio of his highly entertaining and eye-opening message/presentation of the state of the church around the world on our website, www.mosaicchurchaustin.com (we are working to change that over to the full version of our new site, hopefully by the end of the month—stay tuned for that one as well).
