18 Nov Illuminate! Winter 2022 KIDCON
Maybe like you, one of my favorite parts of the Christmas season is all the lights that illuminate many homes, inside and out. Our world becomes a different kind of bright and colorful when the sun sets and the night falls. The lights don’t just stay in our homes, but the light spreads out to our neighborhoods, our communities, lighting up trees, town squares and skylines…and our hearts rejoice.
All the more should our hearts wonder and rejoice as those who follow Jesus, who said to us: “You are the light of the world…” (Matthew 5:14)
So in “light” of what Christ said to us, we are excited about this year’s theme for our upcoming Winter KIDCON: “Illuminate”, which takes place December 2nd-4th!
During this conference-style event, we will be talking with our elementary-aged children about how God set them apart and made them to shine His light. Our children are bright lights in their schools, in their communities, in their families, and in their church. We hope to encourage and empower our children with the truth that because our God is Holy, they are set apart! We will be reinforcing our children’s identity and purpose as light-bearers.
These powerful and biblical truths will be in every part of our weekend, including:
- *energetic and engaging worship
- *breakout sessions for 3rd-5th graders
- *light-themed stations for K-2nd graders
- *games & creative activities
- *food & free play
Also, we will be having a breakout on Saturday morning after drop-off for our parents who are interested in learning more about the crucial conversations of salvation and baptism.
We always end our KIDCONs on Sunday with an invitation to action. What God has done in you shouldn’t remain just with you, but it should be shared:
“…A city on top of a hill can’t be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they put it on top of a lampstand, and it shines on all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before people, so they can see the good things you do and praise your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)
We encourage you to take these last few days before our registration closes to invite friends, family, and neighbors to experience the fun and excitement of KIDCON for their elementary-aged children. Forward this email. Send a text. We know God has something good in store for our children, and we can’t wait to see Him move mightily in their lives.
