Happy Thanksgiving!

We’ve been talking a lot about gratitude this month, which is especially appropriate this week, of all weeks!

And so…I’d like to celebrate Thanksgiving by creating my very own Top 10 list of things I’m thankful for at Mosaic:

10. The 152 people who filled out a Purple Card last Sunday and indicated they wanted to be a part of a Sunday service team in 2017. That is amazing! (A quick note—please help us get you connected by promptly returning our call, text or email when you get it!)

9. The $34,000 we raised earlier this month to give to STARRY—Richard Singleton, their Executive Director, sent me this note to share with you:

“Praise God for the amazing generosity and passion of Mosaic Church. We are incredibly grateful for the example of the Mosaic family in our community and are beside ourselves with joy for this amazing display of kingdom service that you have made in your gift to kids and families served by STARRY. Thousands of children and families will be impacted because of the amazing Christ-like grace shown by Mosaic!”

8. The 38 Community Group leaders we have at Mosaic. Thanks for opening up your lives and homes to care for and shape many lives.

7. Our TGA ministry. This was the second year of doing “The Gospel And” at Mosaic. We focused on politics in an extremely divisive political year. Thank you to the team and all those who came out to try to help us do better in having conversations most people avoid or fracture over.

6. Our CHI Street team. This past Sunday one young man came up to me, and shared that through the work of this church, he was now sober for 10 months and had a place to live and was doing well in his new job. He thanked me repeatedly for all the love that was shown him here through you!

5. Our new mKids rotation—thanks to Joanna Garrison and the commitment of some amazing team members, we have radically overhauled the way we structure how we impact the lives of the next generation. Thank you to you if you have gone the extra mile and committed above and beyond this fall!

4. All our new mentors at Live Oak Elementary. It seems I run into a new one almost every other week when I visit. You guys are amazing!

3. The Superhero Sidekick video Tazz Kelly made for mKids. Tazz does Creative Arts for us and nailed this one. You can watch that here:

2. Our amazing team of staff, deacons, and elders that tirelessly dream and contribute every day into making Mosaic what it is. THANK YOU!

1. Jesus. We really do believe that HE is the head of the body, HE is what holds all things together, and that this really is His church. He has been, and always will be, so faithful and gracious to us. We have far more than we deserve and he has held us and kept us and grown us by His sovereign will and grace—and He has brought all of us into relationship together.

For these things—and more—I am grateful.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Morgan

P.S. There is no corporate prayer meeting this Friday morning! Enjoy your families!
