19 Aug Coming This Sunday (and Next!)

Hi all—I’m looking forward to a great weekend with many of you men at our annual men’s retreat. A couple of things for us all to be aware of for the next couple of amazing weekends at Mosaic:

1. This Sunday, we will be having in Dr. Greg Mitchell, pastor of Every Nation Vancouver, a multiethnic church in Vancouver, Canada. Greg writes and teaches on theology, counseling, and leadership, is considered a “pastor to pastors,” and his training materials are used around the world, and have impacted my life as well. He is highly educated, having earned a Bachelor of Education, Diploma of Christian Counseling, Master of Christian Studies, and Doctor of Ministry. Greg and his wife, Debbie, have been married for 30 years and have four of their own children, and six more added to their care in the last six years.

Greg is a fantastic communicator, with, of course, a dry Canadian wit, and especially loves to see God’s grace transform relationships. He will be preaching on the Love of God, a message which he has become known for. I can’t wait for you to experience God’s grace on his life.

Also, this Sunday is our last Sunday to receive backpacks for our backpack drive, so please, please, please get those in to us! We have already received many and can’t wait to see how many we will receive to be able to give away. You definitely don’t want to miss out on what will happen with them:

We will receive them from you (by the 21st), fill them with school supplies, give them back to you on the following Sunday (August 28), and ask you to do something special with them—and that Sunday, by the way is:

2. August 28 is Back to School Sunday! We will be having special music that morning, videos, a dramatic presentation, and a great dance from our dance team, all aimed at highlighting the importance of our next generation ministries.
Joining us that morning will be special guest SaulPaul (you can check him out at SaulPaul.com). I hope you’ll make plans to join us that morning for a high-energy moment of celebration and vision-casting for the 300 or so children and students of Mosaic.

So, Dr. Greg Mitchell this weekend, Back to School the next, and Men’s Retreat today! It’s a busy month and I’m excited to see all that God will do in our midst.

He is so faithful to us, has a plan and a purpose for us, has put us here for a reason, and His hand has been on us at every step of the way.
