23 Dec Christmas Cheer (and Important Info)
Merry Christmas to you, if no one’s said it to you yet!
Here are some very important details regarding our church’s holiday schedule:
1. Christmas Eve: our candlelight and Christmas carol service is at 5 pm tomorrow! We expect a packed room with potentially every seat taken, so if you have a particular place you’d like to sit, and especially if you are planning on coming with a group of 4 or more into the main worship area, you’re going to want to arrive early.
If you arrive at 5 pm or even after, have a larger group with you, and are expecting to sit together, it’s going to be tough, but we do have overflow seating in the Family Room to accommodate late-arriving larger groups and families with fussy babies.
Remember, children 6 weeks to Pre-K will be in their classrooms; kids that are in Kindergarten and on up are welcome to join their parents, so get there early to both check in your smaller child and to find a seat.
We hope you’ll join us for a great night together! This will be a great service to bring friends and family and neighbors to—there will be a great and diverse presentation of who we are as a church body, some compelling videos, new and old Christmas music, and what I hope will be a compelling message with a twist on the traditional Christmas story, aimed at speaking to people no matter where they are in relationship to Jesus. Plus there will be, as my children like to remind me: “Fire”, as in lots of lit candles. 🙂
2. One Service Sunday on December 27—we will be combining our services into one coming up this Sunday at 10:30 am.
Come early at 9:30 for breakfast tacos, juice and coffee—but breakfast only goes till 10:15 am, so give yourself some space and time to do that, especially if you have children with you.
And, speaking of children, again, 6 weeks to Pre-K will be in their classrooms, and Kindergarteners on up will be with Mom and Dad. Again, expect the room to be very full, so make sure to arrive early to ensure your larger party is able to sit together. It’s going to be a great morning as a church, as we look back on the year and peek ahead to 2016.
3. Because Christmas and New Year’s Day fall on a Friday this year, there will be no church prayer either of those mornings. We normally pray every Friday morning at 7 am in Elevate, but we won’t be open those two days in observance of each holiday. But, you can join us the following week as we kick-start our year with our corporate fast on January 6, 7 and 8, with prayer both Friday morning at 7 am and Friday evening at 6 pm.
That’s it! Safe travels to all of you who are gone, and if you’re here in Austin, the city no one is from, I’ll see you tomorrow and Sunday! 🙂
O, Come Let Us Adore Him!
