24 Jun A Word of Thanks!
I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you.
Thank you for all the ways, big and small, you help make Mosaic what it is.
So many of you love and teach children the good news of Jesus in mKids week in and week out.
So many of you open up your homes and lead or host a community group, where people can grow in their relationships with God and with one another.
Many of you are mentors for at-risk children at local elementary schools—thank you for that. Thanks for every time you show up, just because you said you would.
Thank you for all of you who serve our homeless friends, and load up cars and trucks with food and supplies and go out on the streets in the hot summer sun, or in the cold winter months, to bring hope and smiles and hugs.
Many of you stand at doorways with smiles, or whip up tasty drinks or get seats ready for people to have space to encounter Jesus, all in the name of hospitality.
Some of you play instruments, or work with teens; many of you love your church through your prayers or through your giving or through your thinking or through encouragement—thank you!
And there are so many things so many of you do that no one sees or that go unthanked—but if there is one thing I know about Christian ministry, it’s that God sees it all, and he is a rewarder of those who seek Him and go after Him and His Kingdom.
Another thing I know and have come to see is that your church experience is, in a large way, what you make it. Jesus says, where your treasure is, that’s where your heart is! If you put your energy, love, prayers, and service towards a thing, most of the time, you are going to grow in love for that thing or person.
It’s amazing—the more time I spend with my wife, and the more I give towards her, the more my heart is opened towards her, regardless of her behavior towards me.
So, let me encourage you, if you are receiving this and are new, to go for it! Take a step of faith and get involved somewhere at Mosaic—in a group, in a service area, on a mission trip, or something!
And regardless of who you are or where you are involved, thank you!
It’s an honor to serve Jesus with you.
