A Very Good Friday (A Call, A Reminder and a Request)

2 Chronicles 7:14: “…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

This Friday night, you and I are going to be part of something unprecedented, as far as I know, in the history of the world, and certainly in the Christian faith, and if that sounds like hyperbole, well, it’s not.

Mosaic Church has joined with what is turning out to be the largest global prayer movement that I am aware of. It’s called Unite 714, and it is a response to Covid-19. It was developed in large part, by Pastor Jim Laffoon, from our Every Nation spiritual family, along with other key leaders around the world, such as T.D. Jakes and Robert Morris, to name a few that you might know from the United States. It is truly international and interdenominational. You can check it out here, at www.unite714.com. We are registered and a part, although that global map might not be updated with Mosaic Church on it.

And this Friday, Good Friday, during Passover, millions of Christians all over the world, now gathering in many cases in an online format only, will unite to pray the same prayer in dozens of languages out of this Scripture, for God’s mercy and grace, and for the power of the Passover Lamb, Jesus, to be our healer and deliverer from this plague and pandemic.

I hope you’ll make plans to join, not just Mosaic, but the global body of Christ through Mosaic, at either 6 or 7:30 pm this Friday.

Here’s what you need to know for this weekend:

1.) We will be receiving communion together, online!

So go ahead and gather those elements – some bread and juice of some sort. If you don’t have these specifically or can’t get them for some reason, any kind of DIY elements will do! We will also be hearing a tremendous message from Dr. Terrance Green, one of our deacons and Professor of Education at the University of Texas, as well as debuting a brand new song written by our team at Mosaic. Again, those times are 6 and 7:30.

2.) For Easter Sunday, we would like to include your face and your Easter Greeting for Mosaic!

We can’t be together in person, but we would love to see you, somehow, someway. Here’s all you need to do:

Step 1. Set up a good video space.

That includes:

– Good Lighting

– Minimizing extra audio interference

– Make sure everyone being recorded is in the frame

Step 2. Record a 3-5 second video of you and/or your whole family saying the following:

“Happy Easter [or Happy Resurrection Day]

from [insert your name or family name here]”

ex 1: “Happy Resurrection Day from the Smith Family!”

ex 2: “Happy Easter from Chantel Washington!”

Step 3. Click this link to upload your video:

Step 4. Join us Easter Sunday to see your debut!

Which brings me to:

3.) Our Easter Service Times are our normal four service times: 8:30 am, 10 am, 11:30 am and 1 pm.

I’m looking forward to gathering with you then. We have some special moments planned along the way that I believe will be touching and encouraging. Easter may look a little different, but I am believing it will “feel” the same!

4. Don’t forget, we have our Mosaic Church-wide prayer call this Friday at noon, as well.

This has been a powerful time of prayer each of the last three weeks that we have done this. Gather your people around the phone, email those requests into prayer@mosaicchurchaustin.com, and hop on the call. You don’t have to walk through this alone!

The call-in info is the same:

PIN: 637 018 467#

With hope,

Morgan
