A New Type of Marriage Event

If you’ve ever been to one of our marriage events over the years, you know how fun and impactful they can be. Carrie and I have a great time every year! Our calendar-oriented challenge is that the event only happens once a year, though. And if you miss it…you’ve missed it.

So, our staff team has also asked the question, how can we most effectively support and strengthen the marriages in our church, year-round?

To do that, we are giving our marriage event a new shape this year:

1.) We are breaking it up into two unique halves
2.) We are using this event to launch the ongoing Marriage Course.

The first half of what we are planning is coming up on February 21 called:

This particular event will feature:

  • a catered dinner from an Austin favorite restaurant.
  • door prizes and date night giveaways.
  • interaction with the Alpha Marriage Course, an outstanding resource that has helped countless couples thrive.
  • significant time for interpersonal communication and connection with your spouse.

Attendance at this event will also set couples up nicely, and if they so choose, they can continue with the remainder of the Alpha Marriage Course. The remaining six sessions are Zoom-based cohorts on either a Sunday night or Wednesday night.

We have been developing a team of Marriage Course facilitators and Mosaic deacons whose focus is marriage enrichment and strengthening, and we are thankful for them. Those Zoom meetings will feature teaching, along with lots of time for private conversations at home with your spouse, while many other couples experience the same in their homes, simultaneously.

Whether your marriage is in a great place, ok place, or it needs some TLC, I am confident that this will raise the water level, so to speak, for all of us!

A second, one-night, marriage event will take place later in the year, so you can keep an ear open for that!

The cost for this event is $70, which includes a lovely dinner for two, Alpha Marriage Course booklets, and the opportunity to connect with Christian couples in an encouraging environment.

Registration is limited to the first 100 couples. There will be a waiting list, but you can avoid that if you register here, now.

Carrie and I will be there, and we are looking forward to “A Moment For Us,” for us.
