19 May Vacation Bible School

VBS has always been that time of year that parents consistently look forward to. “I get to drop my child off for 3 hours? Every day? Wait, it’s CHEAP?! Wait, Jesus is involved?” Sign. Me. Up.
And, hey, your kids look forward to it too! Crazy snacks, wild games, skit shenanigans…
What’s not to love?
But Wait! There’s even more! Here’s even MORE reasons why you will love sending your kids this year.
This summer our VBS will feature homegrown curriculum called: “Be Willing: A Winter Adventure.” With creative contributors: Kevan Lin, Jaime Chapman, Cori Sullivan, Vanessa Maleare, Tazz Kelly, and Alyssa Jacobs; Be Willing promises to be a meaningful, fun, and multi-cultural adventure for Mosaic’s kiddos.
In a world where our children are constantly questioning everything, and answers to ANY question are available at the touch of a button or a quick “hey Siri”; Be Willing will open the door to a different type of spiritual conversation.
Over and over again, the Bible demonstrates that we don’t always get the answers to our questions. We are encouraged to ask, to approach the throne of the Father confidently, but not always promised an answer. What we are called to, is obedience to an attentive and loving Father. This can be so so hard to learn and yet is so foundational to the concept of faith. If you’ve been alive longer than 2 minutes, you’ve also seen this to be true in your own life. I myself have experienced this concept painfully. Many times.
This September, our family will celebrate our 3rd year anniversary of moving to Austin. We have moved 6 times in our married life alone, and only one of them was “our choice.” Almost every time we have been forced to follow God’s lead, stepping out in faith, and let me tell you it’s never been fun. But—It’s always been good. It was always meant for good. 🙂
Our kids will face so many times when they are required to make sacrifices of themselves: their time, their resources, or something else. They will be called to do it without knowing why and they will have to do it simply because they were called to do so, by the One who loves them more than we ever could.
In my opinion, Be Willing might be the best thing you can do for your kid this summer. Other than, you know, feeding them. You should definitely do that.
We hope to see all of your munchkins at Be Willing this summer. Space is limited, so be sure to register as soon as possible at the link below!
