The Practice of Prayer

During our six-week series, “A Prayer For”, starting September 13, we’ll be looking at the book of Psalms to learn how to pray, specifically for six areas of our lives: our selves, family, faith community, neighborhood, city, and our nation.

Throughout the six weeks, our church body will complete three prayer projects associated with the six areas we’ll be praying for. Join us as we commit to live out the Psalms so that our lives bear witness to the power of prayer that can change the world!

Read below for details on the projects we’ll be completing and how to get involved!

Developing A Rhythm of Prayer

The great Corrie Ten Boom once asked the question, “Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?”

At Mosaic, we want prayer to be a regular and consistent communication in response to our relationship with God, not just something we turn to in moments of crisis. Like in any strong relationship, communication is key, and our relationship with God is no different. He wants to know your heart and He wants you to know His as well.

From September 13 – 26, we’ll be journeying together through two, week-long devotionals to help us in praying for ourselves and our family. Join us as we seek to develop a rhythm of prayer in our lives using devotionals available to everyone through the Bible App by YouVersion.

Download both the Bible App and the two devotionals we’ll be using through the links below. Complete the devotionals by yourself or with your family and friends using the ADD FRIENDS feature on the app.

Prayer Meets Art

Having spent two weeks praying for ourselves and our households, we turn our attention to praying for our communities, both our faith community and our neighborhood. As we pray for these groups of people, we also want to provide space for God to answer our prayers as we engage one another.

Join us as “Prayer Meets Art” Saturday, October 3 from 9 am – 12 pm at Mosaic. Together as a local body, we will boldly pray for our faith community and neighborhoods while also creating a beautiful mural to mark this time in our church and lives!

We invite you to participate in both a guided prayer walk through the church building and in our interactive (yet physically-distant) mural designed by some of Mosaic’s very own gifted artists (think paint-by-number). The art project will celebrate Mosaic’s 25th anniversary as a local church with a beautiful mural that will also serve as a lasting reminder for this year and our journey through our current “A Prayer For…” sermon series.

Register today for a powerful time of prayer and creativity as we work individually (or as family units) to create something timeless together as a testament to God’s faithfulness in 2020!

Praying for our City & Nation

Join us on October 24 from either 9-10 am or 10-11 am as we come together for a Prayer Walk around the Texas State Capitol building in downtown Austin.

As a church community, we desire to see our city and nation experience the power of God’s Kingdom through the love of God’s people. Through recent events, the brokenness in our world has become even more evident: broken systems, broken relationships, broken people. As followers of Christ, we want to bring healing to these areas. Gather with us as we safely come together to walk and pray for healing and unity.

Let’s combine our faith to see God’s Kingdom come and His will be done, in our city and nation, as it is in Heaven. Sign up for a one-hour time slot today!

*Once you register for a time slot, you will receive further details regarding when and where to meet.
