Our Commitment

I wanted to bring you up to speed on three things, quickly, that are of note at Mosaic Church:

1. Our commitment to short-term missions

Thankfully, as Christian people, we don’t have to choose between being invested locally, or being invested globally. For whatever reason, the people of God have wrestled over this tension for centuries—but it’s usually because of an imbalance somewhere, theologically or culturally. Our bottom line is: Jesus has called us to be his witnesses starting in the city, and moving out into the world (Acts 1).

Here are some registration deadlines for our upcoming mission trips, where we do everything from evangelism (because people need to be made right with God), to helping churches in the city (because people need to be made right with their neighbors), to serving the needs of and helping the poor (because people need to be made right with themselves):

Narok, Kenya March 30th
Kageyo, Rwanda March 30th
Cape Town, South Africa April 15th
Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic April 22nd
San Luis Potosi, Mexico April 23rd

If you have never been on a short-term missions trip…you should go. God will meet you and it will change your life—the first trip I went on, as a college sophomore, changed my life for forever.

2. Our commitment to connecting your work and your faith

GoStrategic is an organization pioneered by the legendary Dennis Peacocke, whose teachings on discipleship also changed my life while I was a new Christian. Mosaic Church is the partner church for their business and leadership conference coming up April 12-14, called the Transforum. You can register for it here. If you were here for the “Work as Worship” simulcast in February, this is your next step!

3. Our commitment to celebrating Jesus

As you know, Easter/Resurrection Sunday is just around the corner. Not only are we having a special Good Friday service, from 7-8 pm on Good Friday, but we are having, as you may have heard, 4 services on Easter Sunday morning: 8:30, 9:50, 11:10 and 12:30.

We are believing it’s going to be an amazing Sunday, and we have been working to create a unique environment and service that day, as we do every year.

Our theme this year is “Flatline”, and we will be talking about how the Resurrection of Jesus can resurrect our “flatlined” lives and hopes as well. Please consider who you could invite to come that day—it’s just a fact: people are more open to attending a church service on Christmas and Easter than any other time of year. Who knows whose life could be changed by your invitation?

Someone invited you at some point, didn’t they? Easter Sunday is your chance to pay that forward into someone’s life. We are creating space so that you can bring your friends and family and neighbors to something creative and impactful.

And, oh yeah, you are welcome to wear that hat ladies, and suit, fellas, if you need to. 🙂

Grace to you,

Morgan
