When we asked local schools what they needed most to help their students succeed, they responded with one word: mentors.
ABOUT MOSAIC MENTORING
Currently, we provide mentors primarily for Live Oak Elementary School and Deerpark Middle School near Mosaic North and Casey Elementary School and Williams Elementary School near Mosaic South. Many children at these schools find themselves in situations where adult interaction and guidance are rare, and perhaps nonexistent at home.
These boys and girls are simply in need of someone who can listen, provide encouragement, and share life lessons to guide them into a successful future. In short, they need positive role models.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN 30 MINUTES
We’re looking for men and women dedicated to changing lives to commit 30 minutes a week to mentor one student at any of our partner schools!
As a mentor, you will meet with your assigned student on the school campus once a week. During this time, your focus will be on providing academic encouragement (not teaching), helping build confidence, serving as a positive role model, and encouraging your student to consider college and career options. Training is included, and you’ll be surprised at the reward of your new friendship!
