Iceland Missionaries – August & Kolbrun Olafsson
August and Kolbrun both responded to the gospel after watching Christian TV as a 20-year-old university students in Iceland. They helped plant a church in Reykjavik and stayed active in various ministry roles there before moving with two young children to Minnesota. There, August graduated from The Masters Institute seminary in 2008. After seminary, August worked software engineer while staying active in ministry. August and Kolburn continued visiting churches around Iceland, teaching, preaching and pastoring the church of their home town for 4 years. Through truly a God-moment, they met Dr. Rice Broocks, one of the founders of Every Nation Ministries, in Nashville in February 2016. In the following years, August led the translation of Dr. Rice’s book God’s not dead into Icelandic and helped assist Dr. Broocks with outreach events both in Iceland and all over the world. August believes God has called him to see Iceland become a sending out nation that will send young people to bless the nations and advance the gospel.
