Discussion Guide: You Have a Part to Play – Overview

Before We Get Started

For our discussion today we will be using the You Have A Part To Play discussion guides. If you would like to follow along you can access this discussion guide on the website at mosaicchurchaustin.com and then select “community group resources” in the menu options.

Prayer

Because the main goal of our time together is to establish relationships and learn how to walk with one another in all that God has called us to be and do, we’d like to begin by praying for one another. So, does anyone have anything you’d like us to pray for, or  anything to share regarding how you’ve seen God moving in your life that we can celebrate together.

This Week’s Video

As we kick off this 8 week campaign it’s important that we start off with the right context and mindset of what we mean when we say You Have A Part To Play. We live in a world that is broken. Things are not as God designed them to be. Our world exists in a constant state of pain, greed, abuse, selfishness, etc. But, the way things are is not how it always has to be. As followers of Christ we carry in us a force and a message that can, and will, bring healing and light into the broken and dark places. Watch our You Have A Part To Play trailer video to see what we mean.

Discussion Questions

With this being the overview week of the campaign we are going to use tonight to being, or maybe continue, talking about and planning our You Have A Part To Play group project.

What topic do we want to address?

What ideas do we have as to how to play our part in that area of our culture?

Discipleship Group Invitation

The ultimate goal here is discipleship, for us to encourage and walk with one another in our pursuit of being conformed to the image of Christ. Obviously, there’s only so much that can happen in a setting like this, so to continue in that journey together we also connect in smaller, gender-specific relationships where we can be challenged and loved throughout our weeks together. If you would like to take that next step and connect with a discipleship group then just let one of our group leaders know and we will help you make that connection with one of our groups.

Community Groups

Community groups are where we seek to live out the Gospel in relationship with others within a smaller community context.
