Discussion Guide: Where Can Wisdom Be Found? Week 10

Prayer

Take the first 10 minutes of your time together to listen to what God is doing in one another’s lives and pray for any specific needs people in your group may have.

Is our future determined by us, or predetermined by God? The answer the Bible gives us in general, and Proverbs in specific, is YES! God is sovereign, and yet we have personal responsibility to pursue His will and His glory with our lives. When those two things come together it produces what Scripture calls God’s Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. In this study we will work through the wisdom of what it means to be Kingdom Bringers.

Discussion Questions

Matthew 6:9-10

Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

How would you describe God’s Kingdom?

What would our world look like if God were running things?

N.T. Weight, The Challenge of Jesus

“Our task as image-bearing, God-loving, Christ-shaped, Spirit-filled Christians, following Christ and shaping our world, is to announce redemption to a world that has discovered its fallenness, to announce healing to a world that has discovered its brokenness, to proclaim love and trust to a world that knows only exploitation, fear and suspicion…I believe if we face the question, “if not now, then when?” if we are grasped by this vision we may also hear the question, “if not us, then who?” And if the gospel of Jesus is not the key to this task, then what is?”

What are the broken areas in your life where you need God’s Kingdom to come and put things back together again?

What are the broken areas in the world around you that need God’s Kingdom to put things back together again?

Closing Thought

Revelation 21:5

And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.”

How can we be people who bring God’s Kingdom into those places of our world?

Spend your remaining time together coming up with a vision and a plan to make this a reality.
