Therefore, in obedience to Christ’s command and as a testimony to God, the church, oneself and the world, a believer should be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Water baptism is a visual and symbolic demonstration of a person’s union with Christ in the likeness of His death and the power of His resurrection. It signifies that his/her former way of life and the pursuit of sin have been put to death and vividly depicts a person’s release from the bondage of sin. Mosaic Church practices and teaches “believer’s baptism.” This means that we perform baptism for anyone who has repented of sin and put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone for justification and righteousness.
“Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”
– Romans 6:3-4
“For I want you to know, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.”
– 1 Corinthians 10:1-2
“In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead.”
– Colossians 2:11-12
In the current COVID era, we are not performing baptisms during our worship gatherings. Instead, we are doing baptisms for people at a time and location that is convenient for them, and then we will show the video of the baptism during our worship gathering on the fourth Sunday of the month. The baptism will need to be performed by the third Sunday of the month in order to be shown that month. If it is after that, then the video will be shown the following month. You will need to sign up to be water baptized. You can do so by clicking the registration button below and filling out our form. One of our pastors will contact you upon signing up to go over the logistics of how we perform baptisms.
If, as a believer, you were baptized prior to your attendance at Mosaic Church Austin, we do not require you to be baptized again, unless your baptism preceded your coming to faith in Jesus. Sign up for our next Water Baptism
