20 Jun This Week’s Guest Speaker
As you may already know, Pastor Morgan, our Lead Pastor, is going to be out for the next few weeks on Sabbatical. This is part of a policy our governing board of Elders instituted years ago to help ensure the spiritual, physical, and familial health of our pastoral staff. For every 5 years of ministry our pastors are required to take a 30 day leave to refresh and spend time focused on connecting with God and their families. So, I would ask us all to be praying for Pastor Morgan, Carrie and their children as they take a much deserved vacation and we cannot wait for them to be back with us at the end of July.
With that said, I am so excited to get to hear some of the best communicators we have within our Mosaic family, as well as within our extended Every Nation family, preach God’s Word over the next few Sundays as we continue on through the book of Romans. We will begin this coming Sunday by having Dr. Terrance Green preach on Romans 5:1-8 (one of my favorite passages).
Dr. Green is an Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin in the College of Education. He also serves as one of our Deacons at Mosaic Church. He and his amazing wife, Brandelyn, have been part of Mosaic for the last five years. They have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Riley-Grace, and will be welcoming another baby girl into their family next month. Dr. Green has been a faithful friend, servant and leader within Mosaic and is one of the many amazing people that help our church community be what God has called us to be.
When asked about what Mosaic means to him, Dr. Green said, “Mosaic matters to me because it is a church that has the courage to address and grapple with very important racial and social justice issues from a Gospel perspective. What I love most about Mosaic is the community of amazing people.”
I couldn’t agree more with Terrance’s words, and having already heard a taste of what he will be preaching this coming Sunday, I cannot wait for you all to have the pleasure of listening to Dr. Green’s sermon. If you are going to be in town this Sunday then please plan on being at one of our four services. I promise, your heart, soul and mind will thank you for it.
I’m looking forward to seeing you there and experiencing God’s presence together in a powerful way. I’ll make sure we have a warm caffeinated beverage waiting for you at the coffee bar!
See you then,
