mKids and Mosaic Students Update!

Hi everyone!

First of all, I’d like to remind you about our weekly prayer call, happening at noon today, just like every Friday. The call in number is the same every week. We would love to have you join us as we trust God for healing, breakthrough, and courage. Here’s the call-in info:

But the main point of this email is to bring you up to speed with what is happening with kids and students, straight from the mouths of our children’s and student’s pastors!

This, first, from Keivon Liburd:

Hey wonderful parents!

I am writing to let you know that first and foremost, “We miss your kids!” Our mKids Team Members are constantly talking about how much they miss those smiling faces. We pray that you and your family are doing well during this time. We can’t wait to get back together but we are also committed to the health and safety of all of our families in mKids. As you have heard, Mosaic Church is having a tentative “soft reopening” on July 5th. This date, however, only pertains to the main services at Mosaic. mKids will remain closed until area school districts have come to a consensus on opening in the Fall.

That being said, as you know we will not have KidCon this month as planned, but we are putting our efforts towards an amazing KidCon experience later this year.

Throughout the summer we will continue to have Sunday Lessons which can be accessed through our website or by subscribing on YouTube. For weekly updates please Follow and Like mKids Austin on Instagram and Facebook.

Finally, please be on the lookout for information on our Zoom calls as well as our Themes of the Week. We love getting to see your family’s pictures and videos!

Our next two themes:

1) Serving or Cleaning in your home.
2) Playing an instrument.

We can’t wait to be with you again, until then, we’ll see you online!

Now, this from Student Ministries Pastor, Wendell Williams, who has something to say to parents, students, the graduating class of 2020, and to all those who had Summer Camp on their radar:

To Parents:

Hello there! Wendell Williams here. We want you to know that as a church and a student ministry team, we have been and remain available to talk and pray for you as you navigate life with your students and family. We are committed to helping your students continue deepening their connections with God, with their peers, with you and the world around them. Thank you for faithfully encouraging your middle and high schoolers to #StayConnected.

To Students:

We know you miss your friends. And they miss you. We miss you too. And we look forward to gathering together in-person one day soon. As we anticipate those future moments, we’ll continue to walk through this moment with you and remind you not to miss what God may be doing in your faith today. Our message and our mission haven’t changed – Love God. Love People. – we’re just finding different means to accomplish it.

To the Graduating Class of 2020:

Your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. Please know we’re so proud of you and have been thinking especially of you during this season. We are honored to have walked with you over the past four years (some of you much longer) and it doesn’t stop now! We’re praying for and celebrating with you!  No matter what comes next, you need the church and we need you. We’re a part of your community of faith, a part of your story and we’re always just a text away.

Every Nation Summer Camp 2020:

Our original plans for EN Summer Camp 2020 have been canceled due to the temporary closing of our camp facility in light of Coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns. This difficult decision was made with great thought, prayer, and consideration regarding the health and safety of all involved. We are exploring alternative summer experiences as well as planning some summer surprises along the way. Of course, many of these decisions are dependent upon the guidance we receive over the next several weeks. So please stay tuned.

Weekly Gatherings:

Over the next several weeks as we continue to gather online, here are a few ways to help your students stay connected. Each week Mosaic Students gather live on Zoom (typically 60-90 minutes) to help students build community, practice lifestyles of worship, and to provide opportunities to live on mission.

Wednesdays @ 8p | Games, Competitions + Connection

Thursdays @ 9:30a | HS/MS Boys Bible Study

Thursdays @ 7p | HS/MS Girls Bible Study

Sundays @ 1p | Student Service + Breakout Groups

And be sure to join our email list and follow us on these social platforms for the latest on how you can stay in the loop on what we’ll be up to during this season.
