Live Oak Elementary

When we asked Live Oak Elementary School what they needed most to help their students succeed they responded with one word…mentors.

How to help

Many of the children at Live Oak find themselves in situations where adult interaction and guidance are rare, if not nonexistent. These boys and girls are simply in need of someone who can listen, provide encouragement, and share life-lessons to help guide them into a successful future. In short they need positive role models. And, what is required of these role models? A 30-minute conversation.

30 minutes a week

We’re looking for men and women who are willing to sacrifice 30 minutes a week to mentor students who attend this elementary school in our area of town. We want to get behind this school and these students because we firmly believe, “there is no life-change without life-exchange.” (Tim Elmore)

Through the Round Rock ISD STARS program you will receive the training necessary to have a successful mentoring relationship with a student. As a mentor you will meet with a student on the Live Oak campus for 30 minutes each week for the purposes of providing academic encouragement, helping build confidence, serving as a positive role model, and encouraging your student to consider college and career options. If you would like to sign up to be a mentor please click below and you will receive a phone call and email with instructions on what your next steps will be.

You will receive more information about the STARS training program and a volunteer application when you sign up below.
