02 Apr Good Friday, Easter, and Four Services
What a great weekend we had together, and my heart is full after our night of Worship on Friday night, and then our moments together on Sunday. God is so good, and so much of His goodness I experience through you, and we experience together.
In light of that thought, I would like to update you on some important dates and times, of which you will want to take note:
1.) Good Friday services:
We will be having two Good Friday services on Friday, April 19, at 6 and 7:30 p.m. Childcare will be provided for Pre-K ages (childcare registration). I love this evening, as a moment of more sober reflection on the Cross of Christ. Over the years, this evening has sort of taken on a life of its own, and grown from a small prayer meeting over in our mKids worship center, into a large prayer meeting, into one service, into now two services….and we would love to have you there.
2.) Easter/Resurrection Sunday:
If you’ve been here at all, you know that we do our very best to make Easter a special morning and experience each year, both for all our own people at Mosaic, and their families and any guests or friends who they invite or who come on their own. As always, please consider inviting friends or family to this morning. People, far more often than not, will come if you invite them, and the combination of special music, creative arts, videos, spoken words, dance and a compelling message all make for a great way to communicate to people what Mosaic is, and far more important than that, show people who Jesus is. Our service times will be at:
3. 8:30 am, 10 am, 11:30 am and 1 pm
And by the way, these are our new service times going forward, beginning on Easter, April 21.
We have communicated this several times, both in emails, surveys, and on Sundays, but wanted to make sure to bring it to your attention in case you had missed it so far!
Quickly, a word about that transition:
-If you are at the current 9 am service, we really need you to consider moving to the 8:30 services (other than families with middle schoolers, as our mYouth will be during the 10 am service).
-If you are at the 10:45 service, we really need many of you to consider going to the 11:30 service, and here’s why:
If everyone from our current 9 and 10:45 services collapses into the 10 am, it will defeat the purpose of making more space. I realize that the 10 am time slot is a convenient one – but it will be for new people, too. Our challenges with overcrowding in children’s classrooms and parking will only continue if everyone goes to the 10 am.
-If you are at the 12:30, please consider making the 1 pm service yours. Over the last 2 years, I have grown so fond of our 12:30 service! You guys are the best and have helped Mosaic so much, in addition to becoming such a great community, overall.
One more special request: In terms of attendance, we really need you to be here, at Mosaic, especially the week before and the week after Easter. The week before, because we will have some special things to communicate vision-wise, and we’ll be fondly looking back a bit. And after Easter, because, well, the first week of a new thing really matters, and will help us get a look at how to lead and care for people best.
That’s it! Thanks for believing with me for a great transition on April 21, going forward.
I’m looking forward to remembering and celebrating Good Friday and Easter with you.
