Discussion Guide: Practically Spiritual Week 3

Prayer

Take the first 10 minutes of your time together to listen to what God is doing in one another’s lives and pray for any specific needs people in your group may have.

Today we continue our Practically Spiritual series. We will be taking a look at some concepts that may fall in the “spiritual”, and therefore impractical, category in many people’s minds and ask the question how can we make those concepts practical in our daily lives.

Discussion Questions

What are some things that hinder me from prayer?

Do I really believe that I have access to the Father?

Have I made sure to give God the praise when he has come through for me?

Do I have a prayer list?

Are my prayers typically petitions for God to move on behalf of my will, or petitions for him to reveal his
will?

Do I really believe prayer is the battle, or have I only believed it prepares me for battle?

Are the actions I’m taking based on good ideas or God ideas?

In what areas of my life do I need God’s vision and God’s heart.

Do I have a daily commitment to prayer?

In what areas do I need humility?
In what areas do I need to turn from my own ways? Where in my life, do I need God to move?
