Discussion Guide: Practically Spiritual Week 1

Prayer

Take the first 10 minutes of your time together to listen to what God is doing in one another’s lives and pray for any specific needs people in your group may have.

Today we begin our Practically Spiritual series. We will be taking a look at some concepts that may fall in the “spiritual”, and therefore impractical, category in many people’s minds and ask the question how can we make those concepts practical in our daily lives.

Discussion Questions

To what degree do you feel like you’re going through the motions spiritually? What could you do about that, or who could you talk to about that?

In what way this week have you carried the Kingdom outside your own home and/or family?

Is your schedule and time shaped by your faith community at all? If so, how?

In what way do you demonstrate loving the poor and not just people of your same socio-economic status?

Can you point to anyone you are personally discipline to know Jesus better?

What do you think the difference is between ministering and performing?

How could you grow in being a minister of reconciliation?

What difficult thing do you feel God is calling you to do that you do by His grace?

In what way can you change and grow this year?

What’s the why behind the things you do?
