This Easter we took a look at the Better Story of the Gospel and the resurrection of Jesus, and how that story turns our story into a better story as well. The fact that Jesus is alive means that our story can have a better past, a better present and a better future. Let’s see how the empty tomb turns even the most difficult of narratives into the great adventure God has called us to be a part of....

Leading up to Easter, we are going to be looking at the last week of Jesus' life. Where did he go? What did he say? Why did he do the things he did? Could that last week have gone any other way? And what does it all mean? After all, at the heart of our faith is not an idea, but a person, so we’re going to take a look at that person together and see how the life, death and resurrection of Jesus impacts the way we do life together. ...

This week we continue our series focused on Christmas called For Unto Us. Christmas season can be filled with so much busyness, hustle-n-bustle, and lots of complicated decisions and relationships. In the midst of all of this it can be so easy to forget about the true and pure simplicity of what Christmas is all about. Three thousand years ago a promise was made by a good, righteous, and holy God to a rebellious, hard-hearted people. But, this promise was not of ultimate judgement, but rather of ultimate deliverance. This deliverance would come through the seemingly inconsequential birth of a baby in an insignificant part of the world. But, as we’ll see this month, that birth was anything but inconsequential....

It's been said that there are two topics you should never discuss in a group of people unlike yourself—religion and politics. Well...today we're going to talk about both. But, we're not going to argue or ridicule or name call like most people would. No, we are going to put Jesus and the Gospel at the center of our conversation and learn to love one another even in our different political views. Our desire is to see God's Kingdom come and His will being done on earth as it is in Heaven because our citizenship is first and foremost found in the sovereign reign of Christ....

All through Scripture we read about men and women who had the courage to step out of all that was comfortable and familiar and dare to trust God to fulfill His promises. But, the courage that was required could only be birthed out of true vulnerability. Today we will discuss how we to can find the strength to be vulnerable and find the courage to dare greatly...

John Lennon topped the charts in 1971 with a song that wondered what life would be like if there was no God. Lennon, along with much of 21st Century American Culture claims that removing God from the equation liberates us to define life’s meaning for ourselves, and this kind of ‘wisdom’ has been elevated in our society as if we have reached the pinnacle of progress. Yet, thousands of years earlier the author of Ecclesiastes had already attempted this little thought experiment and in the end came to understand that life is only worth living when God is at the center of it. In our discussion we will take a look at both sides of the argument and see how faith in Jesus and the pursuit of His Kingdom not only gives our life an immovable purpose, but makes us into a people who can change the world. ...

Suffering…it’s a reality everyone goes through at some point in life. But what does suffering mean? Does it tell us something about ourselves? Does it tell us something about our world? Does it tell us something about God? The answer is a resounding YES. The real question is what does suffering tell us about those things, and perhaps even more importantly is the question of how can we navigate through our suffering in a way that makes us stronger in the end? That is what we will discuss during our time together. ...

Our world and our culture are changing faster than ever before in history. The issues we are confronted with on a daily basis, from gender issues to the definition of marriage to racial conflict to political debates, are moving at a pace that can leave us feeling confused, angry or even apathetic because it just gets to be too much at times. This week, on the coat tails of having Stephen Mansfield in, we will take a look at what it means for God to have purposed and planned us, as His people, to live in the time and places we live to both engage and transform our culture. It isn’t going to be easy, but as we will see there is plenty of reason for us to be bold, courageous and hopeful as we move into the future of our nation. ...

Is our future determined by us, or predetermined by God? The answer the Bible gives us in general, and Proverbs in specific, is YES! God is sovereign, and yet we have personal responsibility to pursue His will and His glory with our lives. When those two things come together it produces what Scripture calls God's Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. In this study we will work through the wisdom of what it means to be Kingdom Bringers....

Desire. It is a powerful thing isn’t it? Those things we want, or wish for in life tend to take center stage in our thoughts, motives and behaviors. But, have you ever noticed, like C.S. Lewis comments, that there are certain desires that we can never seem to satisfy on this earth? The desire to be unconditionally loved. The desire to feel significant. They always seem within grasp, but yet just slightly out of reach. Perhaps, as Lewis states, these unrealized desires are simply God’s way of reminding us that we were not made for this world in its current form, but in fact were made for something, or should I say Someone, far greater than anything this world has to offer? That's what we will look at this week as we talk about the wisdom of worship. ...
